Description

  • Design and execute test plans and test cases for UI and backend components.
  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across web and mobile platforms.
  • Conduct backend testing, including API validation, microservices testing, workflow verification, and data integrity checks.
  • Lead structured exploratory testing sessions to identify edge cases and high-risk defects.
  • Review user stories and acceptance criteria to assess clarity, completeness, and testability.
  • Apply risk-based testing to prioritize critical functionality, complex integrations, and high-impact failure areas.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to identify requirement gaps and improve product quality.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproducible steps through resolution.
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, and coverage discussions to support release readiness.
  • Maintain documentation of test progress, results, and coverage metrics.
  • Own quality for specific product areas and contribute to go/no-go release recommendations.
  • Help improve QA processes and increase automated test coverage across UI and backend.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of QA experience with hands-on manual testing for UI and backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, test strategy, and test coverage principles.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality test plans, test cases, and exploratory test charters.
  • Experience with functional, regression, smoke, negative, and exploratory testing.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Ability to perform basic SQL queries or data validation for backend testing.
  • Ability to analyse requirements, identify ambiguities, and ensure testability.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar test and defect management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to mentor junior QA team members and contribute to QA best practices.
  • Foundational understanding of automated testing concepts and interest in supporting automation initiatives.
  • ISTQB or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Nightwatch, or Selenium preferred.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitLab preferred.
  • Knowledge of Java or JavaScript preferred.
