Description

  • Gather and understand requirements for data migration and transformation.
  • Design, build, and maintain performant, resilient, and maintainable data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align designs and implementations with business needs and project standards.
  • Implement data architectures and designs using appropriate tools and platforms.
  • Support pipelines through review, testing, version control, CI/CD, and production deployment.
  • Monitor new and existing pipelines to ensure they meet requirements and expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate pipeline issues to maintain stability and effectiveness.
  • Document solutions and transfer knowledge within the project team.
  • Maintain awareness of business and technical context to contribute beyond immediate tasks.
  • Provide feedback to architecture teams and contribute to data governance and data management best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills, including understanding of performance and parallelism.
  • At least 1 year of material experience with a traditional OLTP database such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres.
  • At least 1 year of material experience with a modern MPP data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, including basic storage and security concepts.
  • Material experience with at least one data transformation tool such as Fivetran, Informatica, DataStage, dbt, or native cloud/data platform tools.
  • Basic understanding of Medallion data architectures.
  • Basic skills with orchestration tools such as Airflow, source control with git, and CI/CD.
  • Effective writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity.
  • Preferred: Data modeling experience on modern data platforms.
  • Preferred: Python proficiency.
  • Preferred: Experience with queuing and event-driven distribution systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Preferred: Experience with data presentation and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Preferred: Specific experience with ELT on Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Preferred: Experience with testing methodologies and tools.
