Description

  • Design, build, and operate Lightspeed’s infrastructure platform that supports the full software delivery cycle (CI/CD to production).
  • Initiate and lead efforts to continuously improve software delivery processes and create tools that accelerate product development across multi-location teams.
  • Develop and maintain robust, self-service platforms for building, deploying, and operating services with emphasis on automation, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost efficiency and reliability of products and services.
  • Influence strategic technical decisions and advocate for best practices including Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery, and security.
  • Own and maintain the team’s technical documentation and platform standards.
  • Lead incident response, diagnose and resolve critical production issues, and drive blameless post-mortems.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and capacity, define and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and build automation to eliminate toil.

Requirements

  • Proven technical leader with a track record of building platforms and tools that enable other teams.
  • Expert knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP).
  • Extensive experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and strong proficiency with Linux systems.
  • Significant experience with deployment and CI/CD tools (e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices and tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Familiarity with a variety of datastores (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB).
  • Skilled in shell scripting and able to read and write code in at least one language (Python, Ruby, or Go).
  • Experience with monitoring, defining SLOs, high availability, disaster recovery, and security practices.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and mentoring skills; able to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Fluency in English and demonstrated passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
