Description

  • Build and maintain high-throughput backend services for the AdServer and Exchange platform.
  • Implement and improve real-time bidding and auction logic.
  • Integrate with demand and supply partners and third-party systems.
  • Own features end-to-end from design through deployment.
  • Partner with Product on new ad formats and monetization capabilities.
  • Collaborate with staff engineers and architects on platform design decisions.
  • Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Use AI tooling in day-to-day development to accelerate analysis, coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help uphold code quality, testing, and engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of backend engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and multi-threaded system design.
  • Experience building or operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in production.
  • Solid understanding of data consistency, performance trade-offs, and database fundamentals.
  • Comfort working in cloud-native environments, ideally AWS.
  • Familiarity with AdTech concepts such as RTB, auctions, and supply/demand integrations is a plus.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs or partner systems is a plus.
  • Clear, direct communication skills for technical and cross-functional discussions.
  • Openness to agentic workflows and AI-assisted development.
  • Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot is expected on this team.

  • US salary range of $118,500 to $216,500 USD; Canada salary range of $171,500 CAD to $201,000 CAD.
