Description

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services for device connectivity, telemetry ingestion, health monitoring, and command/control operations.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and product teams to define APIs and device-feature workflows.
  • Deliver resilient microservices on AWS, including EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and SQS.
  • Build and own high-throughput data pipelines using Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
  • Instrument services for observability, reliability, and SLO compliance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and live incident response.
  • Write clean, testable, performant code and improve CI/CD automation.
  • Use AI coding agents for specifications, code generation, testing, incident triage, reviews, and system design.
  • Share effective AI-native engineering practices and recommendations with the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of backend development experience using Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with microservices, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
  • Strong cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and deployment experience; AWS preferred.
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, caching layers, and event-streaming systems.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI workflows and AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with IoT or telematics systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Kinesis, high-frequency ingestion, time-series data, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry (preferred).
  • Knowledge of SRE practices and automated testing frameworks (preferred).
