Description

  • Plan, execute, and complete security projects and engagements independently.
  • Design, implement, automate, and continuously improve security controls for cloud and virtualized environments.
  • Review new and existing deployments and architecture for flaws, risks, and control improvements.
  • Partner with Cloud Platform, IT, and Product teams to design security solutions aligned to business needs.
  • Assess and improve data center, network, DMZ, NAC/NAP, and multi-site data movement security.
  • Conduct documentation, comparisons, threat and risk assessments, and proof-of-concepts to support design decisions.
  • Develop security automation, orchestration, playbooks, runbooks, and operational troubleshooting documentation.
  • Provide dashboards, metrics, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to engineering teams.
  • Support supercomputing system administration, including monitoring, security checks, and scripting for cloud and development environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong preference for 8+ years of related experience, or 6 years with a Master's degree, in data center, virtualization, or network security architecture/engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management and risk/severity adjustment for cloud and infrastructure environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud and virtualization technologies such as AWS, HPC, and MAAS.
  • Experience with Lustre, Kerberos, and Linux administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Go, or Java for production automation and CI/CD integration.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Experience patching and hardening Linux, macOS, and Windows systems, images, and containers.
  • Proficiency in network protocols and firewall management, with hands-on configuration and optimization experience.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards such as ISO27001 and NIST 800-53, plus exposure to Zero Trust Architecture, Jenkins, data governance, and secure data movement.
  • Strong communication, presentation, diagramming, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
