Description

  • Build and maintain custom Shopify Hydrogen storefronts using React Router and headless commerce integrations.
  • Implement responsive frontend interfaces with HTML, CSS, and modern React.
  • Own frontend performance across multiple storefronts.
  • Lead migrations from legacy Shopify Liquid and Django-based frontends to Hydrogen with minimal business disruption.
  • Debug and optimize data flow from React components through GraphQL to backend systems.
  • Extend and maintain Python/Django services that power GraphQL integrations with internal ERP, PIM, and CRM systems.
  • Build custom middleware and API integrations when standard Shopify functionality does not fit the headless stack.
  • Modify data exchange layers and API endpoints as business requirements evolve.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, deployment environments, and release automation for Hydrogen and edge deployments.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and cross-stack technical issues.
  • Translate ambiguous business requests into technical approaches and determine when to solve, adapt, or escalate them.
  • Communicate technical constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern React.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify Hydrogen, React Router-based storefronts, Storefront API, and headless commerce architecture.
  • Solid Python skills with Django experience and comfort working in monolithic codebases.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying to serverless or edge platforms.
  • Experience with Shopify GraphQL APIs, including Admin and Storefront APIs, and complex query writing/debugging.
  • Ability to self-direct on clear technical tasks while recognizing when to escalate ambiguous requirements or architectural trade-offs.
  • Strong English communication skills for explaining technical constraints to non-technical team members.
  • Full-time availability of 40 hours per week.
  • Experience in environments where Shopify required custom implementations beyond standard features, preferred.
  • Experience migrating Liquid storefronts to Hydrogen, preferred.
  • Experience managing large product catalogs of 100K+ SKUs and SEO-sensitive migrations, preferred.
  • Familiarity with feed syndication, Algolia search integration, or Storyblok CMS workflows, preferred.
  • React Router experience outside Hydrogen contexts, preferred.
