Description

  • Analyze, optimize, and secure backend and third-party dependencies across the codebase.
  • Build frameworks for evaluating dependency risk and maintaining a healthy, performant dependency graph.
  • Lead planning and execution of major software releases and platform upgrades from design through production rollout.
  • Drive improvements in engineering productivity metrics such as PR CI speed, code review turnaround, and commit velocity.
  • Reduce toil and improve engineering efficiency across the organization.
  • Contribute to standards for code quality, dependency hygiene, and platform reliability.
  • Spearhead efforts to apply AI across the platform lifecycle and use AI tooling to accelerate development work.
  • Partner with engineers, security teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve conflicts, and roll out platform changes.
  • Monitor platform health and reliability, and diagnose and resolve complex issues before they become critical incidents.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and a focus on clean, maintainable, well-architected code.
  • Experience reasoning about distributed systems, dependency graphs, and platform-level decisions across multiple teams.
  • Ability to move across the stack when needed, including Python, Go, and infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience or experimentation with AI in work or personal projects.
  • Extreme ownership and a proactive mindset toward engineering excellence.
  • Experience with backend technologies such as Python, Django, FastAPI, and Go.
  • Experience with infrastructure and CI tools such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Buildkite, and Pants.
  • Experience with data technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Copilot, or internal AI enablement frameworks.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for onboarding, team meetings, client or partner work, or industry events.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $148,000 to $222,000 USD for US locations.
  • Participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity may be included in the total compensation package.

  • Flexible travel requirements of up to 10% with advance coordination.
