Description

  • Lead the design and development of backend and machine learning systems that scale to serve 182,000+ customers.
  • Build reliable and efficient data processing and model-serving pipelines for production ML models.
  • Develop and optimize predictive systems such as conversion likelihood, engagement ranking, personalization, and anomaly detection.
  • Architect systems and services that let AI agents learn and improve autonomously from reward or outcome signals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business challenges into scalable, measurable machine learning solutions.
  • Work with software engineers and product managers to turn predictive models into customer-facing product features.
  • Mentor engineers and help evolve machine learning engineering best practices, tooling, and architecture.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, and data-driven innovation across teams.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in machine learning engineering or applied software engineering, with a focus on classical ML and predictive modeling.
  • Deep understanding of supervised learning methods such as random forests, XGBoost, logistic regression, and ensemble techniques.
  • Proven experience building and scaling production-grade ML systems end to end, including data pipelines, training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience as a backend engineer working with distributed systems and high-scale architectures.
  • Proficiency in Python and modern frameworks such as FastAPI or Django, preferred.
  • Experience with big data and streaming technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop.
  • Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing and distributed task queues such as Celery, SQS, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
  • Strong understanding of databases and ORMs such as SQLAlchemy and Alembic, plus cloud-native architectures including AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to set technical direction, influence product strategy, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Experience training and deploying ML models in production environments that produced measurable impact, preferred.
  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning or agentic AI systems that adapt from outcome or reward signals, preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $176,000 to $264,000 USD.
  • Participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity and sign-on payments may be included in total compensation.
  • Comprehensive health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits, subject to eligibility.
  • Up to 10% travel for onboarding, partner work, team meetings, and industry events, coordinated in advance.
