Description

  • Lead and manage cross-functional backend, frontend, infrastructure, and mobile engineering teams.
  • Own team delivery, quality, and technical outcomes.
  • Drive strategic engineering initiatives.
  • Partner with Product, Trading, and senior engineering leadership to translate business needs into technical execution.
  • Evolve planning, estimation, CI/CD, code review, testing, and release processes.
  • Guide architectural decisions for hybrid infrastructure systems.
  • Ensure production system availability, performance, and observability.
  • Reduce technical debt while maintaining delivery velocity.
  • Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineers, including conducting 1:1s and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, customer focus, and results.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.
  • Experience with financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains.
  • Strong understanding of backend systems.
  • Experience operating systems across cloud environments, including EC2, networking, security, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with observability and performance monitoring tools, including metrics, logging, and alerting.
  • Experience with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments preferred.
  • Hands-on Ruby experience, low-latency or high-throughput systems experience, and exposure to trading, fintech, or market-data platforms preferred.
  • Experience scaling teams and systems and using infrastructure-as-code tools preferred.
