Description

  • Manage, mentor, and support the career development of software and QA engineers through feedback, one-on-ones, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead hiring for software engineering and QA roles, including interview design, candidate evaluation, and hiring decisions.
  • Define scalable QA strategies spanning automated, manual, and regression testing.
  • Monitor quality metrics and validation throughput, including defect rates, test trends, and mean time to detect and resolve issues.
  • Design and improve SDLC, agile, testing, bug-triage, and delivery processes.
  • Align engineering and QA capacity with organizational priorities and maintain delivery dashboards and milestones.
  • Collaborate with Product, Clinical Operations, and Support to translate goals into engineering and quality backlogs.
  • Communicate release readiness, technical concepts, and operational requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write code, implement features, resolve bugs, conduct code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues alongside the team.
  • Facilitate architecture discussions and RFC reviews while promoting scalable, maintainable web applications and APIs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in engineering management, technical leadership, or a player-coach role.
  • Experience managing or overseeing QA functions, including test strategy, QA workflows, and automated testing integration.
  • Hands-on proficiency with technologies such as Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, React, and AWS Lambda or similar serverless architectures.
  • Experience facilitating technical and architectural decisions while maintaining system reliability and scalability.
  • Experience using quality metrics and validation throughput measures to improve platform reliability.
  • Proficiency with test automation frameworks, CI/CD test suites, and observability or monitoring tools.
  • Ability to balance coding, debugging, people management, and process ownership.
  • Strong communication skills across technical, clinical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Empathy for and understanding of the transgender community and barriers in gender-affirming healthcare.
  • Preferred: telehealth, digital health, or HealthTech experience; HIPAA and PHI familiarity; Playwright, Cypress, or Jest; startup experience; and Terraform or other IaC tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States.
