Description

  • Build, coach, hire, and manage embedded engineers while maintaining alignment with central technical standards.
  • Define and scale the FDE operating playbook, including intake standards, routing rules, delivery models, and engagement lifecycle criteria.
  • Turn ambiguous business processes and requests into repeatable frameworks, technical requirements, and delivery plans.
  • Align engineers, product owners, business sponsors, and executives on priorities, technical standards, roadmaps, and a single intake path.
  • Champion reusable assets, developer tooling, and an internal asset marketplace with clear ownership and maintenance practices.
  • Set technical standards for AI agents and automation built on enterprise platforms such as Databricks, Gemini Enterprise, Claude, and Airtable.
  • Govern FDE deliveries across security, compliance, AI cost telemetry, and prototype-to-production or retirement lifecycle management.
  • Partner with business leaders and budget owners to communicate FDE capacity, outcomes, and aggregate AI costs.
  • Define engagement success metrics and run operational rhythms for intake SLAs, reuse, and delivery outcomes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, data engineering, or AI/ML delivery.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineers.
  • Experience leading teams in Forward Deployed Engineering, technical consulting, or heavily matrixed environments with embedded talent.
  • Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining operational playbooks for intake, routing, and reusable delivery models.
  • Ability to convert ambiguous intake, prioritization, and graduation processes into repeatable cross-functional frameworks.
  • Experience developing reusable assets, developer tooling, and long-term asset-maintenance practices.
  • Experience owning delivery governance, including compliance, AI cost telemetry, and prototype-to-production transitions.
  • Deep familiarity with LLM ecosystems, agentic workflows, and cloud data platforms, including Databricks, Gemini, Claude, and Cursor.
  • Ability to assess quick AI optimization opportunities versus larger initiatives requiring a product roadmap.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience measuring engineering ROI and managing vendor, licensing, or infrastructure costs in production environments.
  • Preferred: Experience with enterprise intake and routing models, agents or automation on Databricks, Gemini Enterprise, Claude, Airtable, or Cursor, and music, media, entertainment, Finance, HR, or label operations.
