Description

  • Adjust complex or high-exposure construction defect claims for assigned programs.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, underwriting teams, service teams, and agents.
  • Research applicable coverage for insureds and document coverage dates, limits, and restrictions.
  • Identify and resolve coverage questions, and draft reservation of rights letters and coverage denials for supervisor or manager review.
  • Investigate losses by securing statements and supporting documentation such as contracts, repair estimates, expert reports, photos, and correspondence.
  • Document claim activities in writing within claim files.
  • Apply legal liability judgments to assigned claims within settlement authority and escalate claims that exceed authority.
  • Assign and monitor defense counsel, independent adjusters, and experts on litigated matters.
  • Evaluate, set, or recommend reserves for handled files.
  • Prepare written reports and provide regular status updates to insureds, claimants, underwriters, and carriers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction defect claims management experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of litigation management experience preferred.
  • College degree or equivalent claims management experience required.
  • Must hold an individual adjusting license for a designated home state.
  • Must be willing to secure additional adjusting licenses as needed.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience handling complex or high-exposure claims is implied by the role.
  • Experience working with legal liability, coverage analysis, and litigation oversight is preferred.
  • Ability to work within Fair Claims Practices 790.03 is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
