Description

  • Define and execute the end-to-end commissioning strategy for gas-fired power generation assets, including reciprocating engine plants and gas turbine installations.
  • Review and refine EPC contract exhibits related to commissioning, performance testing, and mechanical completion.
  • Participate in early-stage engineering design reviews to ensure modular designs include the instrumentation needed for parallel commissioning.
  • Provide technical guidance on integration challenges across multiple OEM platforms, including reciprocating engines and gas turbines.
  • Direct and manage third-party commissioning teams, including scope definition, progress verification, and schedule alignment.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with OEM representatives to confirm performance, heat rate, and emissions guarantees are met.
  • Oversee commissioning protocols from point-to-point checks through full-load and grid compliance testing.
  • Coordinate fuel infrastructure readiness, including pipeline lateral integration and first gas events.
  • Oversee validation of plant-wide control systems, including master plant controllers and hybrid SCADA environments.
  • Lead the technical transition from commissioning to operations, including transfer of documentation, test results, configurations, and baseline performance data.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in power plant commissioning.
  • Direct experience with reciprocating engines and gas turbine technologies.
  • Experience reviewing and refining EPC technical exhibits and performance testing protocols for complex, multi-asset projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead third-party teams in commissioning environments.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and challenge upstream engineering and design decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Located within 60 miles of one of the company’s hub locations in the SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, Denver, Austin, Calgary, or Toronto (preferred based on hiring note).
