Description

  • Lead engineering strategy and define standards for natural gas power generation projects.
  • Establish governance frameworks for design standards, drawing standards, calculation methods, document control, and lessons learned.
  • Develop scalable workflows from conceptual design through FEED, detailed engineering, IFC documentation, and as-built deliverables.
  • Build, recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain a multidisciplinary engineering organization.
  • Oversee engineering execution across multiple concurrent projects at different stages of development and delivery.
  • Review and approve critical engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, single-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, equipment datasheets, civil and structural designs, and control narratives.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between EPC/EPCM contractors, OEMs, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and operational readiness with technical guidance, clarifications, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on engineering codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead or oversee safety and reliability studies, including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, arc flash, short-circuit, and load flow analyses.
  • Define and implement engineering software, digital platforms, simulation tools, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Review EPC/EPCM agreements, OEM supply contracts, and technical schedules from an engineering risk and execution perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree or advanced technical qualification preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in the power generation industry.
  • Significant experience with reciprocating engine and/or gas turbine power plant projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and instrumentation and controls disciplines.
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously through development, design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Strong familiarity with major OEM platforms such as Caterpillar, Wärtsilä, GE, and Jenbacher/INNIO.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including NFPA, IEEE, ASME, API, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading or overseeing HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, arc flash, short-circuit, and load flow studies.
  • Experience managing technical interfaces with EPC/EPCM contractors, OEMs, independent engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and practical execution.

  • Total compensation of $221,000 to $260,000, including base salary and bonus.
