Description

  • Provide telephone triage support for hospice patients and their families during after-hours coverage.
  • Assess patient conditions and determine the appropriate next steps for care.
  • Coordinate care and resources with on-call teams and client care staff.
  • Document all calls, communications, and interventions accurately in the EMR.
  • Maintain a calm, professional, and empathetic demeanor while handling urgent situations.
  • Support timely interventions that help ensure continuity of hospice care.
  • Work independently while remaining consistently available during scheduled remote shifts.

Requirements

  • Active multistate Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life care experience is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort using technology and electronic medical records (EMR) for call documentation.
  • Ability to type documentation and notes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle stress and multitask during a high call volume environment, including at least 5 calls per hour on weekdays and up to 8 calls per hour on weekends.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Consistent attendance, active communication, and reliable internet connectivity during all scheduled shifts.
  • Experience with remote work or telehealth settings is beneficial (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base pay of $25 per hour after training, with opportunities to increase up to $28 per hour within the first 6 months.
  • $2 shift differential for overnight shifts.
  • $2 shift differential for weekend shifts (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday).
  • 3 weeks of paid remote training.
  • PTO accrual for both part-time and full-time nurses based on hours worked.
