Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud architectures and infrastructure for client engagements using AWS (and hybrid/cloud-based solutions).
  • Migrate customer systems and data platforms to cloud or hybrid architectures and optimize post-migration performance.
  • Build, optimize, and manage scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics solutions for client use cases.
  • Architect scalable data platforms and recommend appropriate data technologies and storage solutions based on client needs.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize clients' cloud infrastructure and support application lifecycles in collaboration with development teams.
  • Work with Project Managers and clients to provide technology recommendations, roadmaps, and align solutions to business requirements.
  • Contribute to data engineering R&D initiatives to validate or invalidate new service offerings and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor and guide delivery team members in technical and non-technical capacities and participate actively in client and team status meetings.
  • Remain current with technology trends and propose standards for technology usage and integration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional IT experience.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with AWS or Azure.
  • At least one AWS or Azure certification at the professional level.
  • Proficiency with programming languages used to build data pipelines and ML models (for example: Python, R, Java, Scala).
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (for example: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Data modeling skills with understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical models and dimensional modeling (star schemas) for data warehouses.
  • Experience with ETL tools (for example: Informatica, Talend, Pentaho) and building scalable data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with big data frameworks and streaming systems (for example: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (for example: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-Learn) and data architecture patterns (for example: lambda and kappa architectures).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.

Benefits

  • $150,000 - $190,000 annual salary range.
  • Full-time role with remote work option (reports into Rochester, NY Engineering).
