Description

  • Conduct complex actuarial analyses of healthcare costs, including industry trend forecasting and Total Cost of Care impact calculations.
  • Own and maintain savings and ROI methodologies for one or more product lines, including assessing updates and estimating parameters for changes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on medical/Rx claims data, eligibility structures, and healthcare cost drivers.
  • Research and analyze the drivers of changes in savings for specific clients or products and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Drive report automation and dashboarding initiatives using tools such as Looker or Tableau to scale insight generation and self-service metrics.
  • Write clean, efficient code and participate in peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Document savings and ROI methodologies clearly for client communication, team knowledge sharing, and future reference.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to turn healthcare claims and data into clear insights on cost savings, trend impacts, and clinical value.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in healthcare economics, actuarial science, or quantitative financial analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Completion of at least 1 actuarial exam in pursuit of the ASA or an equivalent designation is preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Competency or proficiency with Python for data analysis and automation is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with raw medical/Rx claims data, eligibility data, and product engagement data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical or economic analyses to peers and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with business tools such as Looker, Tableau, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Prompt and regular attendance at the assigned work location and ability to remain seated for prolonged periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and adaptability to changing priorities.
