Description

  • Assist with monthly revenue close activities by preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables.
  • Review standard and non-standard contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Prepare and document annual standalone selling price (SSP) analysis and ensure monthly revenue allocations are applied consistently.
  • Support the order-to-cash process by reviewing sales orders in the accounting system for proper revenue recognition and compliance.
  • Manage enterprise invoicing, prepare weekly accounts receivable aging reports, and follow up with customers on outstanding invoices.
  • Maintain customer billing portals and payment applications, resolve billing discrepancies, and support a positive billing experience.
  • Validate monthly data in Zuora Revenue and reconcile revenue reports to the general ledger.
  • Draft technical accounting memos supporting revenue conclusions, including SSP, contract modifications, variable consideration, and principal-versus-agent assessments.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, customer success, revenue operations, and FP&A to gather data and support revenue entries.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to streamline revenue accounting operations and improve close quality.
  • Develop and maintain internal process documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as point of contact for sales tax and VAT matters, including nexus research, jurisdiction registrations, and product taxability assessments.
  • Perform special technical projects, analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Support the company financial audit by preparing and reviewing revenue-related schedules for external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and other authoritative guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying ASC 606 to complex SaaS arrangements.
  • Experience with usage-based or consumption-based revenue models.
  • Experience developing and maintaining revenue recognition models and forecasts.
  • NetSuite or similar ERP system experience required.
  • Experience with contract review and order-to-cash processes.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with international subsidiaries and consolidations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Results-focused approach with ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPA with Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Experience with Zuora, Avalara, Stripe, FloQast, and Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience with revenue recognition automation preferred.
  • Experience with audit preparation and readiness, including memo preparation and research, preferred.
  • Cannot currently sponsor or support visa transfers.
