Description

  • Own the developer feedback loops across CI/CD, testing, dependency management, and internal tooling.
  • Lead AI-partnered development by shaping how human engineers and autonomous agents work at Honeycomb.
  • Define and track developer productivity, satisfaction, and ROI metrics for leadership visibility.
  • Drive organization-wide change adoption and help engineers embrace new workflows and tooling.
  • Support engineers and the First Team through 1:1s, career development, and feedback loops.
  • Oversee the platform and tooling foundations that support autonomous agents and engineering workflows.
  • Contribute to the evolution of observability-driven engineering practices across the company.

Requirements

  • Sustained, multi-year experience leading an engineering enablement or developer experience team.
  • Fluency in CI/CD.
  • Experience defining and tracking developer productivity or ROI metrics.
  • Experience leading cross-org change, ideally through a major workflow change or AI rollout.
  • Deep experience with AI tooling.
  • Ability to distinguish strong from weak AI usage and articulate a personal AI philosophy.
  • Familiarity with observability and OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience operating internal platform or tooling as a product for internal engineer customers.
  • Hands-on coding and code review experience is preferred.
  • Experience building AI-driven projects and tools is a plus.

  • Base salary of $208,260 to $234,000 USD, based on level of experience.
