Description

  • Own the DataOps/MLOps platform, operating model, automation, and tooling for reliable pipeline and model delivery.
  • Lead Azure DevOps CI/CD standards, testing, environment promotion, and auditable deployments.
  • Standardize Dagster orchestration, including reusable assets, scheduling, backfills, dependencies, and observability.
  • Operationalize dlt and dbt ingestion and transformation with automated testing and safe deployments.
  • Build MLOps capabilities using MLflow, Databricks Model Serving, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining automation.
  • Establish observability for data and models, including freshness, quality, lineage, latency, drift, cost, alerting, and SLAs/SLOs.
  • Administer and govern Databricks Lakehouse on Azure, including Unity Catalog, access controls, workspace configuration, and policy automation.
  • Manage infrastructure as code, reproducible environments, secrets, and least-privilege access.
  • Own on-call, runbooks, incident response, root-cause analysis, reliability improvements, and FinOps optimization.
  • Mentor engineers and automate governance, compliance, audit logging, approval workflows, and evidence collection.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data, ML, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps, including production data or ML systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in setting standards, building automation, and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong Azure DevOps CI/CD expertise, including build and release pipelines, environment promotion, automated testing, and Git workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Dagster or equivalent orchestration, dlt, dbt, Databricks, and Delta Lake.
  • MLOps experience with MLflow model registry, deployment or serving, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining automation.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Azure and implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform or equivalent.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills for automation and tooling.
  • Experience with observability tooling and SRE practices, including SLAs/SLOs, alerting, and incident management.
  • Experience with security, access control, and compliant handling of sensitive data; bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: financial services or insurance experience, Databricks administration, Azure Machine Learning, Docker/Kubernetes, data-quality tools, responsible-AI governance, or relevant Azure/Databricks certifications.
