Description

  • Design and evolve Node.js and NestJS backend services that operate at scale.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance scalability, cost, and long-term maintainability.
  • Build well-typed REST APIs with strong versioning, backward compatibility, and clean boundaries.
  • Model and optimize MongoDB and Firestore schemas for high read/write workloads.
  • Design atomic updates and consistency strategies for distributed systems.
  • Implement queues, caching layers, and rate limiting to handle burst traffic and failure modes.
  • Ship modular Vue 3 frontend components that efficiently consume APIs and support real-time updates.
  • Instrument logs, metrics, traces, and alerts, and participate in on-call production support.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues and drive post-mortems to closure.
  • Review code, mentor junior engineers, and raise engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Strong backend-heavy full-stack engineering background.
  • Deep comfort with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and scaling microservices with NestJS or Express.
  • Modern frontend experience with Vue 3 or a similar framework.
  • Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, distributed systems tradeoffs, concurrency, and rate limiting.
  • Real production debugging experience.
  • Comfort working in cloud-native environments such as GCP or AWS.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and containerization.
  • Bonus: experience with Pub/Sub or other message queues, event-driven systems, domain-driven design, performance optimization, or reducing infrastructure costs.
