Description

  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code for in-home care software solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance Ruby on Rails services.
  • Support existing products while delivering new features and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Own end-to-end development of features that drive revenue and platform growth.
  • Optimize database queries and API performance for speed, efficiency, and availability.
  • Contribute to architectural improvements and technical design discussions.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation to support system health.
  • Improve code quality, testing practices, and deployment processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production-grade Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Strong proficiency with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Proficiency in test-driven development and writing maintainable, well-tested code.
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Comfort working in Agile development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms (preferred).
  • Experience supporting both legacy systems and greenfield development (preferred).
  • Exposure to GraphQL APIs and domain-driven design (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Datadog, New Relic, or Scout APM (preferred).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based orchestration such as EKS or ECS (preferred).
  • Knowledge of job queue processing tools such as Resque or Sidekiq (preferred).
  • Located within the EST or CST time zones in the United States.
  • Ability to travel 10–25% with some overnight travel.
