Description

  • Design, author, and maintain robust, highly optimized systems that meet design, technical, and schedule requirements.
  • Work with QA and technical leadership to identify, communicate, and resolve defects and improve system stability and accuracy.
  • Author, review, and provide feedback on technical and end-user documentation.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership and other programmers on overall technical design and architecture.
  • Work with production staff to build realistic schedules, identify dependencies, and coordinate feature rollouts, testing, and maintenance.
  • Work independently on low-risk tasks and with minimal guidance on high-impact tasks.
  • Provide guidance and informal supervision to more junior staff.
  • Review code and enforce coding standards through peer reviews.
  • Help team members set up tools and troubleshoot minor workflow blockers.
  • Communicate with programmers, content creators, managers, and external partners on technical proposals and requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of professional Unreal Engine experience.
  • 3+ years of experience developing in a team environment.
  • 2+ years of professional C++ experience with advanced knowledge of C++.
  • Extensive experience working in multiple codebases.
  • Strong ability to discuss and review technical proposals, requirements, designs, algorithms, source code, and reference documents.
  • Ability to provide meaningful time estimates for large tasks.
  • Proficiency in optimized and thread-safe coding.
  • Extensive experience using debugging tools to fix bugs in unfamiliar code.
  • Expert knowledge of 3D math.
  • Strict adherence to project coding standards.
  • Strong cross-discipline collaboration, communication, and willingness to receive feedback.
  • Comfort with client-facing communication and representing the studio professionally with external partners.
  • Interest or experience with AI-assisted software development workflows.
  • AAA experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Unity or proprietary custom engines is a strong plus.
  • Experience developing on console is preferred.
  • Experience shipping multiple titles is preferred.
  • Experience taking a title from beginning to end is preferred.
  • Must reside in Ontario or British Columbia and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Primary working language is English.

Benefits

  • Remote full-time position.
  • Salary range of $112,000 to $132,000 CAD.
