Description

  • Develop and maintain features across AI, UI, Physics, Character, Graphics, Engine, and Tools subsystems.
  • Design, author, and maintain robust, highly optimized systems that meet design, technical, and schedule requirements.
  • Work closely with QA and technical leadership to identify, communicate, and resolve defects.
  • Author, review, and provide feedback on technical and end-user documentation.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership and other programmers on overall technical design and architecture.
  • Work with minimal guidance on medium-impact tasks and independently on low-risk tasks.
  • Provide guidance and informal supervision to junior staff.
  • Help team members set up tools and troubleshoot minor tools issues and workflow blockers.
  • Contribute to studio culture through positive working relationships and cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of professional Unreal Engine experience.
  • 2+ years developing in a team environment.
  • Strong C++ knowledge.
  • Extensive experience working in at least one large code base.
  • Ability to discuss and review technical proposals, requirements, designs, algorithms, source code, and reference documents with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide meaningful time estimates for medium-sized tasks and break large bodies of work into actionable sub-tasks.
  • Proficiency in identifying areas for optimization and using debugging tools to fix bugs in unfamiliar code.
  • Interest or experience with AI-assisted software development workflows for code exploration, implementation, debugging, documentation, and code review.
  • Strict adherence to project coding standards.
  • Strong cross-discipline collaboration skills, with great written and verbal communication.
  • Experience or comfort with client-facing communication and representing the studio professionally with external partners.
  • Expert knowledge in 3D math.
  • AAA experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Unity or proprietary custom engines is a strong plus.
  • Experience developing on console is preferred.
  • At least one shipped title is preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and reside in Ontario or British Columbia.
  • Primary working language is English.

  • Salary range of $92,500 to $107,500 CAD.
