Description

  • Act as the commercial lead in negotiations for power purchase agreements and build-transfer agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with procurement contacts at utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, community choice aggregators, and corporate off-takers.
  • Develop market-specific commercial theses and provide intelligence to inform development and acquisition strategy.
  • Identify new offtake opportunities through competitive solicitations and bilateral discussions.
  • Lead proposal package preparation for RFPs and RFIs related to utility-scale solar, storage, and hybrid projects.
  • Develop creative deal structures and recommendations to support successful transaction outcomes.
  • Track market, industry, economic, consumer, and competitive trends affecting power origination.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for senior management.
  • Engage with industry groups and monitor regulatory changes to identify opportunities, risks, and market solutions.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams and related affiliates across Hanwha Renewables and Hanwha Energy US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, finance, engineering, sustainability, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in power marketing, origination, or a similar role.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating offtake deals, including PPAs, VPPAs, tolling agreements, financial hedges, and other innovative instruments.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. utility-scale solar development, power markets, and customer segments.
  • Understanding of battery storage contracting structures preferred.
  • Ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and renewable energy market trends.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and changing circumstances in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working successfully in a geographically dispersed organization is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time in North America.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $200,000 to $230,000 annual salary.
