Description

  • Prospect for new business through outbound lead generation, local cattle auctions, agricultural associations, and inbound leads.
  • Conduct in-field sales conversations and product discussions with ranchers and other prospects in their working environment.
  • Expand existing customer relationships and identify upsell opportunities to increase long-term value.
  • Manage a sales pipeline and hit ambitious territory growth targets.
  • Own customer account management after the sale, maintaining relationships and supporting ongoing success.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff from sales to onboarding and deployment teams.
  • Own the end-to-end customer onboarding and deployment experience in the territory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for gathering customer feedback and advocating for territory needs.
  • Collaborate with Product, Support, Customer Onboarding, and other internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Represent Halter at industry events, demonstrations, and local association meetups to generate leads and build relationships.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally in agriculture or technology.
  • Strong history of creating new business opportunities and negotiating value-based sales conversations.
  • Experience building lasting customer relationships and expanding accounts through upsell opportunities.
  • Ranching or cattle operations experience, with understanding of the industry’s unique challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Resourceful problem-solving ability and strong collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the territory, approximately 75%.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • Preferred: Background in customer-facing roles within agriculture technology.
  • Preferred: Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
