Description

  • Design, implement, test, and operate database components including ingestion, query planning, distributed execution, and storage formats.
  • Build the multi-tenant SaaS architecture, including tenant isolation, quotas, usage tracking, audit logs, background jobs, and service boundaries.
  • Develop APIs and database interfaces for AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications.
  • Balance rapid experimentation with long-term reliability as the platform progresses from prototype to production.
  • Instrument and operate services using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards.
  • Shape architecture, storage choices, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices.
  • Collaborate across product and infrastructure teams and communicate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Own database solutions through delivery, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with user workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems with minimal supervision.
  • Mastery of a programming language such as Go, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience with distributed systems, catalogs and table formats, and query engines.
  • Experience delivering software that reached production and is actively used by customers.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks, with a practical delivery mindset.
  • Experience working in cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience using observability tools to troubleshoot and understand system behavior.
  • Ability to iterate quickly, define scope amid ambiguity, take initiative, and communicate collaboratively.
  • Experience building distributed query engines, data warehouses or lakes, or data engineering tools is preferred.
