Description

  • Configure, maintain, and administer Azure Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, notebooks, and SQL warehouses across environments.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, availability, resource utilization, workload failures, and audit logs.
  • Optimize compute, SQL warehouse, workspace, Delta Lake, capacity, and cost configurations.
  • Administer workspace governance, Unity Catalog, RBAC, permissions, service principals, SCIM, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
  • Manage secrets, tokens, storage credentials, Key Vault configurations, encryption, and secure access controls.
  • Troubleshoot platform, Spark workload, connectivity, permission, and performance issues.
  • Support disaster recovery, high availability, access reviews, audit readiness, change management, and regulatory controls.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, cybersecurity, compliance, infrastructure, and governance teams on platform standards and reliability.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, monitoring procedures, and administrator standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years administering cloud-based data platforms or analytics environments.
  • 3+ years administering Azure Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, clusters, jobs, SQL warehouses, and platform settings.
  • Experience with Databricks users, groups, permissions, admin roles, service principals, SCIM, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience administering Unity Catalog metastores, catalogs, schemas, tables, volumes, storage credentials, and external locations.
  • Knowledge of compute policies, cluster permissions, instance pools, job ownership, and platform usage controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Databricks, Spark workloads, connectivity, permissions, performance, and job execution.
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, PowerShell, Databricks CLI, REST APIs, automation, and operational scripting; Terraform awareness preferred.
  • Understanding of Azure Storage, Key Vault, private endpoints, virtual networks, firewalls, network security groups, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
  • Experience with access reviews, audit evidence, change management, runbooks, documentation, RBAC, least privilege, encryption, and secrets management.
  • Databricks Platform Administrator certification or experience in financial services or another regulated environment is preferred.
  • Travel is required during the first six months, followed by approximately 5% annual travel.
  • Must have valid U.S. work authorization without current or future employer sponsorship.
