Description

  • Manage and build a high-performing SRE and infrastructure team in India across Infrastructure, Automation, Cloud Operations, and Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Develop the SRE Center of Excellence operating model to support collaboration across global engineering teams and time zones.
  • Drive platform-as-a-product thinking by building self-service capabilities for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, observability, database operations, incident management, and automation.
  • Improve developer experience and delivery speed by reducing platform friction and enabling feature teams to launch independently and securely.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization from monolithic systems to modular, multi-service, cloud-native platform architectures.
  • Strengthen incident management, improve service availability, reduce MTTR, and embed reliability into system design.
  • Lead automation and toil-reduction initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Establish reliability practices such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, production readiness reviews, dashboards, and service ownership models.
  • Partner with product, engineering, security, and architecture leaders to align platform investments with business outcomes.
  • Provide senior technical leadership and help shape an AI-first engineering and operations culture.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, cloud operations, or platform engineering.
  • 6+ years of engineering leadership experience leading distributed, international, or cross-functional platform/SRE/infrastructure teams.
  • Experience scaling teams of 10–20+ engineers, including senior engineers, technical leads, or managers.
  • Experience building, growing, or transforming platform, infrastructure, cloud operations, or SRE organizations.
  • Experience with a platform-as-a-product operating model focused on developer experience, adoption, self-service, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience modernizing large-scale systems from monolithic architectures to modular, component-based, or cloud-native platforms.
  • Experience operating secure, reliable, scalable systems in SaaS, cloud, multi-product, commerce, marketplace, hosting, or high-traffic environments.
  • Strong understanding of observability, incident management, SLOs/SLIs, capacity planning, automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, operational readiness, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with OKRs, reliability scorecards, operational reviews, post-incident reviews, and engineering excellence mechanisms.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across engineering, product, security, architecture, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience aligning globally distributed engineering cultures into a unified operating cadence.
  • People-first leadership style with experience building high-performing, inclusive teams.
  • Preferred: experience in large-scale SaaS, commerce, marketplace, domain, hosting, payments, or infrastructure-heavy businesses.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Go, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools.
  • Preferred: experience using AI-powered developer tools or AI for engineering productivity, operations, incident response, or automation.
  • Preferred: experience with event-driven architectures, data platforms, or platform engineering at scale.
  • Preferred: experience contributing to or leading open-source initiatives.
  • Preferred: experience with M&A, post-acquisition integration, platform consolidation, or large-scale engineering transformation.
  • Preferred: willingness to travel when needed for leadership retreats and cross-regional coordination.
