Description

  • Lead technical discovery, architecture design, demos, and end-to-end evaluations for prospects and customers.
  • Act as the AI subject matter expert for Security & Compliance or Core DevOps use cases.
  • Drive AI-focused solution strategy, including competitive positioning and business value justification.
  • Own technical strategy for assigned accounts and influence Customer Success Plans for multi-team transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing on account strategy and platform adoption.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance during the pre-sales cycle, including tender support, audit support, workshop design, and integration problem-solving.
  • Translate customer feedback into product requirements, documentation improvements, and roadmap input.
  • Create reusable technical assets such as reference architectures, working examples, best-practice guides, and enablement content.
  • Mentor other Solutions Architects and contribute to global Center of Excellence initiatives.
  • Represent GitLab externally through thought leadership, standards participation, and ecosystem relationships.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on expertise with AI, including designing or implementing AI-powered solutions or advising on AI adoption.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, software consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Practical background in modern software development or operations, including CI/CD, DevSecOps practices, and related tooling.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and architectures for secure, scalable application delivery.
  • Ability to design and explain technical architectures across multiple teams and phases of the software lifecycle.
  • Experience leading technical evaluations and workshops such as proofs of value or solution design sessions.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building new skills over time; transferable experience in adjacent domains such as security, data, or cloud architecture is welcome.
  • Familiarity with GitLab’s product and customer personas at a strategic level is preferred.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor and customer advocate across sales, product, and engineering teams.
