Description

  • Own and grow a book of mid-market commercial accounts in your territory.
  • Drive the full sales cycle from outbound prospecting and discovery through negotiation and close.
  • Meet or exceed quota by expanding executive sponsorship and managing strategic initiatives in your territory.
  • Articulate GitLab’s value and AI-powered capabilities in terms of business outcomes, security, compliance, and toolchain consolidation.
  • Manage territory planning, opportunity documentation, forecasting, and pipeline hygiene using data to prioritize risk.
  • Collaborate with partners, Sales Development, Customer Success, Renewals, and Solutions Architects to drive new business and expansion.
  • Represent GitLab in customer meetings, executive briefings, regional events, proposals, and reports.
  • Mentor and coach fellow Commercial Account Executives by sharing sales strategies, insights, and best practices.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships through regular on-site customer engagement.
  • Contribute customer ideas and apply MEDPICC and Command of the Message on opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience driving complex B2B software sales cycles with commercial and mid-market customers.
  • Ability to sell a complex AI-powered SaaS or DevSecOps platform and expand existing accounts.
  • Experience using Salesforce and Clari, or similar CRM and forecasting tools, for deal management and forecasting.
  • Proven success managing and closing larger, complex commercial deals using multi-threading and strong negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with MEDPICC and Command of the Message.
  • Ability to operate independently as a self-starter managing territory planning and KPI execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach peers and take on team-level responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for executive-level customer conversations.
  • Experience in a Commercial Account Executive or similar sales role is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm, solutions-focused, and resilient under pressure.
