Description

  • Build and maintain production backend services using Python and Node.js/NestJS.
  • Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Work with PostgreSQL on schema design, complex queries, indexing, connection management, and performance tuning.
  • Build and support asynchronous workflows using message queues and distributed-system patterns.
  • Apply caching strategies across application and data layers, including cache invalidation and performance tradeoffs.
  • Own features and integrations through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and iteration.
  • Containerize and deploy services using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor production systems using logs, dashboards, metrics, and observability tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across APIs, integrations, queues, databases, and multi-service workflows.
  • Contribute to secure development, technical design, architecture decisions, system improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of professional experience building and operating production software.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Production experience with Python and Node.js/NestJS, with strong depth in at least one.
  • Experience building, deploying, and operating production APIs, microservices, or backend systems.
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience, including complex queries, indexing, schema design, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience designing REST APIs and integrating with external systems, including retries, duplicate processing, and failure handling.
  • Working knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, message queues, consistency, failure recovery, and caching.
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Redis, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience deploying and debugging on Azure or another major cloud provider using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with Git, secure coding, production monitoring, clear English communication, and collaborative engineering practices.
  • Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, dbt, Airflow, Flink, BI tools, multi-region systems, logistics, robotics, or AI-assisted development is preferred.
