Description

  • Lead frontend architecture decisions and phased modernization strategies across multiple JavaScript framework stacks.
  • Design scalable, maintainable UI solutions integrated with Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL-backed REST APIs.
  • Establish best practices for code quality, testing, performance, and CI/CD automation.
  • Define and implement testing strategies using Playwright and Jest.
  • Collaborate with backend, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers and promote engineering excellence across teams.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance using Datadog observability practices.
  • Incorporate user feedback and retail workflows into frontend improvements.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of fullstack or frontend engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or similar modern frameworks.
  • Advanced TypeScript expertise, including complex type modeling and scalable architecture patterns.
  • Experience building and maintaining shared component libraries and design systems.
  • Working knowledge of Java/Spring Boot services and PostgreSQL-backed REST APIs.
  • Experience with legacy-system modernization strategies, Playwright, Jest, GitLab CI/CD, and Datadog.
  • Retail, store operations, or supply chain systems experience is preferred.
  • Excellent English communication skills; C1 preferred, with strong B2 considered.
  • Experience with Android or iOS frontend development is a bonus.
  • Must reside in Latin America, have work authorization there, and maintain significant overlap with MST.
