Description

  • Work with on-premise infrastructure, including bare metal and virtual machines, for setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Define requirements, assumptions, and next steps to bring clarity to ambiguous operational situations.
  • Own automation projects end to end, from design and rollout through ongoing maintenance.
  • Harden and tune systems while improving operational processes and team hygiene.
  • Maintain the stability, performance, and security of servers, web servers, databases, and queues.
  • Investigate production incidents across OS, networking, and infrastructure layers, and apply temporary mitigations.
  • Coordinate with developers during incidents and participate in post-mortems.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Use AI tools in day-to-day research, troubleshooting, and development work.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE, or in a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience with servers at the OS level and below, including VMs and bare metal.
  • Strong Linux skills; Ubuntu experience is expected.
  • Comfort using core Linux crisis/debugging tools.
  • Solid networking fundamentals and ability to configure and troubleshoot iptables.
  • Experience with Ansible and Git.
  • Experience with Bash or Python scripting for automation or observability.
  • Production and on-call experience, including incident diagnosis, service restoration, and post-mortems.
  • Ownership and strong attention to detail in high-impact production environments.
  • Hands-on experience in two or more of the following areas: ClickHouse, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, HAProxy/Nginx, OS tuning, full disk encryption on LVM, or infrastructure security tools like Teleport and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Preferred experience with VictoriaMetrics.
  • Preferred experience with complex CI/CD pipelines, especially scripted Jenkins pipelines.
  • Preferred experience with bare-metal Kubernetes, Flux/GitOps, or Terraform.
