Description

  • Work primarily with on-premise infrastructure, including bare metal servers and virtual machines, for setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Own automation projects end to end from design and rollout through ongoing maintenance.
  • Keep servers, web servers, databases, and queues stable, fast, and secure.
  • Investigate production incidents across OS, networking, and infrastructure layers, apply mitigations, and coordinate with developers on post-mortems.
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous situations by defining requirements, assumptions, and next steps.
  • Improve system hardening, tuning, and the team’s operational hygiene.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Use AI in day-to-day work for research, troubleshooting, and development.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE in a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience with servers at the OS level and below, including VMs and bare metal.
  • Strong Linux skills, with Ubuntu experience and familiarity with core Linux troubleshooting tools.
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including the ability to configure and troubleshoot iptables.
  • Experience with Ansible and Git.
  • Experience with Bash or Python scripting for automation and observability.
  • Production and on-call experience, including incident diagnosis, service restoration, and post-mortems.
  • Strong ownership and attention to detail due to the cost of downtime.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: ClickHouse, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, HAProxy/Nginx, OS tuning, full disk encryption on LVM, or infrastructure security tools such as Teleport and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Preferred experience with VictoriaMetrics, complex scripted Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, bare-metal Kubernetes, Flux/GitOps, or Terraform.
