Description

  • Drive ML/AI strategy for audience propensity, lookalike modeling, segmentation, and other modeling approaches that improve campaign performance.
  • Own ROAS optimization efforts by developing and refining models that maximize return on ad spend for clients.
  • Design and build production ML systems including feature engineering, model training, batch and online inference, and serving infrastructure.
  • Establish and run MLOps practices such as model versioning, monitoring, drift detection, and reproducible training pipelines.
  • Champion experimentation and statistical rigor via A/B testing frameworks and data-driven evaluation of model and product changes.
  • Lead and grow the Data Science team through hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
  • Partner with Product and Client Success to translate business requirements into ML solutions and communicate model capabilities to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Data Platform team to ensure reliable data foundations and feature pipelines for modeling.
  • Translate complex ML concepts into actionable insights for business stakeholders and executives and set technical direction to foster innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science or ML Engineering, with at least 2 years managing or leading teams.
  • Strong ML fundamentals including classification, regression, clustering, and production ML deployment.
  • Experience with audience/customer modeling such as propensity, lookalike, segmentation, or recommender systems.
  • Production ML experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining models at scale (not limited to notebooks).
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Proven people management skills including hiring, mentoring, and developing data science talent.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts to business stakeholders and executives.
  • Nice-to-have: ad tech/marketing tech or performance marketing modeling experience and specific experience with ROAS optimization.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Databricks and MLflow, real-time scoring and feature stores, deep learning for NLP/CV, and LLMs/generative AI.
  • Eligible to work in the United States (Fluent participates in the E-Verify Program).
