Description

  • Provide technology and product consulting for account opportunities.
  • Deliver high-level and in-depth technical presentations to customers, prospects, and channel partners.
  • Support RFI and RFP responses.
  • Organize and lead proof-of-concept activities.
  • Design solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Participate as a specialist on assigned virtual teams.
  • Contribute to broader team activities.
  • Support customer evaluations, demonstrations, and detailed design requirements.
  • Work with customer project teams on design and PoC labs.

Requirements

  • Fluent in German and English with excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong, successful pre-sales engineering track record in a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of Layer 2/3 switching.
  • Sound knowledge of IPv4/v6 routing concepts.
  • Sound knowledge of overlay networking and VPNs.
  • Sound knowledge of Wi-Fi operation and design.
  • Sound knowledge of network security principles.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with cloud technologies and cloud-based network management platforms (an advantage).
  • Knowledge and practical experience with compute and network virtualization, network management/orchestration software, SD-WAN, automation scripting, and APIs (an advantage).
  • Ability to work on customer project teams and define success criteria for PoCs.
  • Major account experience and experience closing deals.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with customers and partners.
  • Willingness to assume a team-lead role when business needs additional resources.
  • Experience working with partners for technical training on products (a plus).
  • Extreme Networks certifications are desirable but not mandatory; recognized industry certifications are a plus.
  • Good hands-on lab experience.
  • Domestic and international travel required.
