Description

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain AI/ML models and pipelines that power ExtraHop's products.
  • Monitor, evaluate, refine, and optimize algorithms to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.
  • Participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical strategy discussions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML features into the broader product architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Act as a technical expert and help foster a culture of excellence, curiosity, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Address technical debt and continuously improve the codebase and technical stack.
  • Stay current on cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to support product enhancements.
  • Document product features, technical specifications, and engineering guides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of professional backend development experience, including at least 2 years at a senior level or above.
  • Strong knowledge of Go, Python, or an equivalent programming language.
  • Experience in machine learning, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience building or operating production AI/ML systems, including model lifecycle management, data/training pipelines, and monitoring.
  • Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, plus version control systems such as Git and agile development practices.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter mentality, and a track record of technical ownership.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in fast-paced team environments.
  • Experience with Django, FastAPI, or another Python web framework is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure services such as EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, EC2, and IAM is preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Packer, Vault, or Terraform is preferred.
  • Experience in API development, PostgreSQL database design, or SQL query performance optimization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in cybersecurity or NDR environments is preferred.
  • Understanding of threat detection, intrusion prevention, and incident response strategies is preferred.

  • Salary range of $165,000 to $180,000 plus bonus and benefits.
