Description

  • Design and build distributed protocols and infrastructure for data partitioning, movement, and placement.
  • Develop dynamic-scaling and cluster-elasticity features with minimal disruption to workloads.
  • Solve complex performance, reliability, and workload-execution problems in large-scale distributed systems.
  • Contribute production code and participate in code and design reviews.
  • Resolve bugs and contribute to projects targeted for upcoming MongoDB releases.
  • Lead development of new features and mentor new engineers.
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver core MongoDB database functionality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building distributed systems.
  • Production software development experience in C++ for a large user base, with strong design structure and rigorous code quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, and architecture.
  • Hands-on or academic experience with large-scale distributed-system design.
  • Understanding of modern computer architecture and systems internals.
  • Industry or research experience in high-performance or low-latency networking, performance tuning, distributed systems, observability, or resiliency.
