Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable systems aligned with business requirements and technical standards.
  • Write efficient, maintainable code for backend services, RESTful APIs, Next.js API routes, and related frontend or mobile components.
  • Design and optimize SQL database schemas, write complex queries, and implement ORM-based data access layers.
  • Build and maintain backend services using Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Fastify, or similar technologies.
  • Create and document RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger for integration with frontend and mobile applications.
  • Provide technical leadership through mentorship, code reviews, and enforcement of coding standards and best practices.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in systems, databases, and APIs to support reliability and high availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including .NET developers and product managers, to deliver software solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and codebases.
  • Implement security best practices and troubleshoot complex technical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Deploy and manage applications in Azure, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and work with Docker and GitHub Actions workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on backend development.
  • Strong proficiency with Node.js 20 LTS for backend development, including Express.js, Fastify, NestJS, or similar frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ORMs such as Prisma, TypeORM, or Sequelize.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and documenting RESTful APIs; GraphQL or tRPC experience is a plus.
  • Experience with full-stack development and backend technologies such as .NET Core, Azure, and C#.
  • Proficiency with Next 15+, React 19+, React Native 0.80+, and Expo SDK 54+ technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Container Instances or Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Experience with backend testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Supertest, and test-driven development practices.
  • Strong Git workflow experience, including pull requests, branching strategies, and collaborative development.
  • Understanding of service architecture, distributed systems, and microservices patterns.
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth, Azure AD, or similar.
  • Experience with Sentry for error tracking and Azure Application Insights for monitoring and performance analysis.
  • Experience with Redis for caching and BullMQ for job queue management.
  • Must live in EST or CST time zones and be available during weekdays 9-5 CST.
  • Must have a dedicated private workspace and a secure environment for company sensitive documents.
  • Must have access to a high-speed internet connection.
  • Healthcare software development experience is a plus.
