Description

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level and major donors in the five-, six-, and seven-figure range.
  • Develop and execute individualized donor engagement strategies to retain and grow the fundraising portfolio.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors and prospects in the tech community, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Conduct wealth screening and prospect research to identify high-value donors and new giving opportunities.
  • Prepare senior leaders for meetings and engagement with donors and prospects.
  • Create proposals, impact reports, acknowledgments, presentations, and other donor communications.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and engagement history in Salesforce.
  • Strategize and test new fundraising tactics, including collaborative pledges, donor salons, and special projects.
  • Analyze fundraising performance and recommend changes to engagement strategy based on results.
  • Support leadership in donor engagement and help shape development processes and systems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in fundraising, communications, or business development.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in direct fundraising and donor relationship management.
  • Proven success activating donors and closing six-figure gifts.
  • Experience communicating with high-value donors and prospects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects through their full lifecycle.
  • Ability to iterate quickly, use data for decision-making, and pivot when needed.
  • Willingness to accommodate meetings outside standard business hours for donors and globally located colleagues.
  • Experience with CRM systems, especially Salesforce.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Preferred: experience building relationships in the San Francisco Bay Area tech community.
