Description

  • Define and own the go-to-market strategy for public sector buyers across state, city, and county health plans and government-sponsored programs.
  • Build and maintain a targeted account list and territory plan spanning Medicaid agencies, state employee health plans, city/county plans, TPAs, and public employer sponsors.
  • Develop positioning, narratives, and commercial models tailored to public sector funding, procurement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the sales channel for public sector accounts, including pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Lead end-to-end deal cycles from prospecting and discovery through solution design, pricing, contracting, and implementation handoff.
  • Partner with Enterprise account management and customer success teams to expand existing relationships into new public sector segments and scalable funded programs.
  • Develop and coordinate RFP/RFI and competitive bid responses with Legal, Finance, Clinical, Product, and Operations.
  • Map decision-makers and influencers across Medicaid agencies, health departments, benefits offices, procurement, and budget teams, and build multi-threaded relationships.
  • Track policy, regulatory, and funding trends and translate them into account plans and campaign actions.
  • Work with Growth, Product, Clinical, and Finance to shape public sector-ready offerings, outcomes reporting, and ROI models.
  • Document repeatable public sector sales playbooks, including customer profiles, buying journeys, deal structures, and implementation considerations.
  • Provide executive-level updates on pipeline status, risks, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise sales experience in healthcare.
  • Strong track record selling into public sector or government-sponsored programs, such as Medicaid agencies, state employee plans, county/city plans, or large public employers.
  • Deep familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or public sector health plan dynamics, including quality, equity, and total cost of care objectives.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder deals with long sales cycles and formal procurement or RFP processes.
  • Strong understanding of government funding and budget cycles, including state budgets, federal pass-through dollars, waivers, and grants.
  • Ability to translate clinical and operational programs into economic and strategic cases for public sector decision-makers.
  • Hands-on builder mindset suited to a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment with evolving playbooks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, RFP responses, and executive presentations.
  • Mission-driven commitment to improving access, equity, and outcomes for publicly insured and underserved populations.
  • Remote work within the U.S. is supported, with Austin, TX preferred for key collaboration moments.
