Description

  • Collaborate with Land Department teams to align data models, pipelines, governance, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal BI/IT teams to implement table and code changes.
  • Work with the STAQ delivery team to prioritize and deploy changes across Salesforce, Databricks, and AI pipelines.
  • Turn Claude Enterprise and related AI capabilities into measurable land outcomes and adoption.
  • Create a governed intake-to-delivery process for AI use cases across business functions.
  • Translate business opportunities into practical AI designs with internal IT and Land subject matter experts.
  • Lead complex analytics initiatives using advanced scripting and analytical methods.
  • Design, build, and maintain SQL-based analytical solutions.
  • Support the Land Department with advanced analytics beyond standard BI reporting.
  • Generate daily and weekly reports, charts, and visualizations for stakeholders and management.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, maintainability, and standards alignment.
  • Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Communicate insights, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging analytics technologies and assess their applicability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of coding experience.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency for implementing and optimizing analytical logic.
  • Working proficiency in R for statistical and analytical use cases.
  • Proven experience delivering complex analytics solutions in a BI or enterprise environment.
  • Strong grounding in software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
  • Experience defining, enforcing, and reviewing shared coding standards.
  • Ability to refactor and improve codebases authored by multiple contributors.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring peers and influencing technical direction without direct authority.
  • Working knowledge of Databricks and its ecosystem, including Lakehouse architecture, PySpark, Databricks SQL, notebooks, workflows/jobs, querying, and Unity Catalog (preferred).
  • Familiarity with applied statistical learning and advanced analytics techniques (preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with Oil and Gas Land Departments (preferred).
  • Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms and modern data ecosystems (preferred).
  • Experience developing shared analytics libraries adopted across teams (preferred).
  • Experience supporting analytics tied to strategic or executive-level decision-making (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce (preferred).
  • Remote work is being considered except for California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
