Description

  • Provide leadership and operational ownership for the local Data Center Facilities team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational health, readiness, reliability, and improvement of the facility.
  • Manage critical and non-critical infrastructure systems to support 100% uptime and safe facility operations.
  • Lead vendor and OEM oversight, including maintenance execution and performance management.
  • Enforce change management discipline, incident response, and emergency preparedness processes.
  • Own capacity planning, budget management, and strategic facility improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly rounds, inspections, alarm response, and documentation standards.
  • Use BMS, DCIM, CMMS, ticketing, and trend data to identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, and predictive maintenance opportunities.
  • Serve on-call 24x7 for incident management and act as local incident commander during facility events.
  • Support audits, compliance readiness, post-incident reviews, and corrective action tracking.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of facilities experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers, hospitals, laboratories, or similarly critical operations.
  • Minimum 7 years in a supervisory or management role with direct responsibility for team leadership, vendor management, and operational decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of data center critical systems, including generators, UPS systems, fuel systems, switchgear, PDUs, chillers, HVAC/CRAH systems, fire detection/suppression systems, and building management systems (BMS).
  • Proven experience managing vendors, maintenance programs, projects, budgets, and emergency response in high-stakes operational environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Confidence in customer-facing and executive-facing situations, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal teams, external clients, vendors, consultants, and contractors.
  • Calm leadership under pressure with strong ownership, follow-through, and high standards for safety and procedural compliance.
  • Ability to challenge weak MOPs, unsafe work, or poor vendor execution while maintaining professional relationships.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a bonus qualification.
  • NFPA 70E awareness or formal electrical safety training is a bonus qualification.
  • Electrical, mechanical, or building systems trade background is a bonus qualification.
  • Data center operations certification such as Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS), DCEP, CDCP, CDCS, or similar credentials is a bonus qualification.
  • Experience with BMS platforms, DCIM tools, CMMS systems, and ServiceNow-style ticketing and workflow systems is a bonus qualification.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance programs, customer reviews, and critical infrastructure risk assessments is a bonus qualification.
  • Experience leading post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking is a bonus qualification.
  • Proven track record developing high-performing teams through training plans, qualification tracking, cross-training, performance feedback, and succession planning is a bonus qualification.
