Description

  • Lead a team of engineers and Engineering Leads with daily technical guidance and people management.
  • Develop professional growth plans, conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify future leaders.
  • Foster a positive team culture and partner with People on hiring and onboarding.
  • Develop and implement technical roadmaps aligned with department goals.
  • Modernize software development lifecycle practices by adopting AI-enabled tooling and agentic coding.
  • Lead technical design reviews for major projects while managing technical debt and existing systems.
  • Manage resource allocation to deliver projects on time, within scope and budget.
  • Work with Product Managers to define initiative scope, timelines, and quality metrics.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve bottlenecks, manage dependencies, and document risks with mitigations.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional meetings, planning sessions, and stakeholder discussions.

Requirements

  • 8-12 years of overall experience in software engineering, including 1-3 years of formal leadership or management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills with a track record of cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
  • Deep programming familiarity with Java, React, TypeScript, Kotlin, Node.js, SpringBoot, JSF, and MySQL.
  • A proven aptitude for AI-enabled tooling, agentic coding, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • A proven track record of successful, on-time SaaS delivery within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, scalable systems, and architectural design.
  • Experience with wine production software, the wine industry, or ERP/accounting system integrations is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical work experience.
