Description

  • Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and supporting infrastructure in Go.
  • Develop the platform for universal agent skills, including authoring, publishing, and linting tooling.
  • Define and enforce correctness standards by backing shipped skills and tools with evaluations.
  • Design and deliver integrations that make Elastic available inside third-party AI ecosystems.
  • Work closely with product teams and external partners to shape and launch integrations.
  • Contribute to the Elastic CLI to improve developer and agent efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack.
  • Work across team and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Bring product thinking to decisions about what should be built and why.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience on backend systems, services, or libraries.
  • Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and a working understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and protocols such as MCP.
  • Significant recent hands-on experience with Go, and ideally other languages.
  • Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to read and contribute to codebases in unfamiliar languages.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in software engineering.
  • Strong product thinking and interest in the wider ecosystem.
  • Strong focus on usability and developer experience.
  • Comfort with context switching and a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including with customers and external partners.
  • Willingness to work on a remote, globally distributed team.
  • Self-motivated, clear thinking, and able to learn and work independently.
  • Experience building or operating infrastructure, with interest in telemetry and observability (nice to have).
  • Connection to technical communities through open source projects, blogs, or talks (nice to have).
  • Experience working with third-party or partner engineering teams (nice to have).
  • Prior experience with Elastic products (nice to have).

  • Typical starting salary range: €67,000–€106,000 EUR.
  • Base salary compensation with no variable compensation component.
