Description

  • Own a defined public sector territory and build a qualified sales pipeline through proactive outbound outreach.
  • Run deep discovery and qualification conversations to assess pain, business impact, budget, and decision criteria.
  • Deliver tailored value narratives and live demos that connect Elastic’s Search, Observability, and Security offerings to business outcomes.
  • Develop mutual close plans with customers and maintain accurate CRM data and forecast reporting.
  • Lead contract, pricing, and executive negotiation discussions to close multi-year consumption commitments.
  • Position Elastic’s platform through clear conversations about cloud economics, usage-based pricing, and modern data architectures.
  • Partner closely with Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Marketing, and RevOps to accelerate deals and improve customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying SaaS experience closing complex Public Sector deals.
  • Proven success overachieving targets in a consumption-based or usage-model sales environment.
  • Experience using MEDDPICC or a similar qualification framework to manage pipeline and prioritize deals.
  • Track record of delivering executive-level presentations and demos tied to financial or risk outcomes.
  • Strong history of negotiating multi-year, high-ACV contracts while protecting margin and securing stakeholder buy-in.
  • Comfort discussing observability, security, vector and traditional search, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Collaborative, coachable, and effective at partnering with internal teams.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for open-source communities and the Elastic model, with OSS selling or advocacy experience preferred.
  • Experience with DWP and/or HMRC.
  • Prior experience at an open-source or developer-centric infrastructure company is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with observability use cases such as logs, metrics, and traces, or security analytics use cases such as SIEM/XDR is preferred.
