Description

  • Develop and implement local marketing plans for India across social media, PR, events, influencers, and campaigns.
  • Work closely with regional leadership to use market insights to shape growth strategy.
  • Manage agencies or contractors to produce content such as articles, posts, newsletters, e-mailers, and videos.
  • Organize and run events, meetups, conferences, online communities, and forums for students and stakeholders.
  • Build and manage community channels across platforms including YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Quora, and X.
  • Develop and execute a market-specific media relations strategy to secure long-lead and short-lead PR coverage.
  • Monitor engagement metrics, user feedback, and community sentiment, and adjust marketing plans accordingly.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the region and the US to share insights and support India market growth.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of marketing experience, either client-side or agency-side.
  • Experience running 360-degree campaigns that include events, social media communities, and PR.
  • Experience conceiving, developing, and supervising marketing and communication ideas through the full cycle.
  • Strong understanding of Indian consumer, technology, and cultural trends.
  • Strong understanding of youth motivations, especially among students interested in studying abroad.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and align stakeholders on results.
  • Track record of achieving strong results through ideas rather than large budgets.
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and consumer narrative-building skills.
  • Experience working on remote teams and influencing HQ partners for local market needs.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for Duolingo’s mission to lower barriers to education.
  • Previous experience working or studying in an English-speaking environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to combine data and creativity in campaign work.
  • Familiarity with the EdTech industry and the study abroad market in India, including English proficiency testing.
