Description

  • Own and grow a portfolio of advertisers through prospecting, pitching, closing, and renewals.
  • Drive new revenue growth by building a pipeline within key advertiser verticals.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional partners across business, product, design, and engineering to advance deals.
  • Share marketplace feedback to inform ads leadership, support deal progression, and help shape product direction.
  • Develop and implement repeatable sales strategies and operational processes, including account prioritization and relationship management.
  • Use data to inform pricing, packaging, and prioritization decisions.
  • Deliver persuasive pitches and proposals tailored to advertiser goals using internal and external data.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and shared goals.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in direct ad sales.
  • Proven success selling video and native/custom ad formats in premium digital environments.
  • Ability to engage senior decision makers at clients and agencies while also handling sales collateral, troubleshooting, and revenue execution.
  • Track record of building new business into long-term, mutually beneficial ad partnerships with top-tier advertisers.
  • Strong understanding of ad tech and mobile app ecosystems.
  • Understanding of Duolingo's product and freemium business model.
  • Experience using data to derive insights and evaluate ad campaign performance.
  • Experience building standard and innovative ad buying agreements.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Meaningful experience with Entertainment, Travel, and Tech partners is a plus.
